About Liway Tayag
Liway Tayag is an early childhood development and special needs educator, parent-teacher coach, and rainbow (LGBTQ+) advocate. She has worked in the Philippines, U.S.A., Indonesia, and Thailand, supporting young children, children with special needs, and their families.
With almost two decades of experience since 2006- and as a parent herself- Li has gained a deep understanding of how children with different abilities and backgrounds learn and grow best. She believes every child can thrive when surrounded by supportive families, nurturing environments, and inclusive communities.
Li’s work focuses on creating lasting, research-based solutions and providing positive support for parents. Together with her life partner (a Speech and Language Pathologist), she helps families, caregivers, and child advocates strengthen relationships, encourage healthy development, and respond to the evolving challenges of parenting today.
In 2025, Li and her partner became certified UCLA PEERS® providers (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills), offering evidence-based social skills training for children, teens, and young adults.
As a rainbow LGBTQ+ advocate, she also supports and guides parents whose children have recently come out- helping families create safe and understanding spaces for growth and acceptance.
Now based in Manila with her 10-year-old boy, Li continues to offer online and in-person consultations, as well as trainings and speaking engagements. She has recently concluded her role as Center Director in a preschool and daycare center, and is now a lecturer in Early Childhood Education in a local university. She is also pursuing her Doctorate in Social Development at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, expanding her expertise in family systems, social-emotional learning, and inclusive development.
You may reach her through 0949 880 0802.
